When my cholesterol soared over 300 and my blood pressure was close to 290 I knew I needed to get healthy, but I didn't know it was going to lead me to finding a whole new approach to life and finding two guardian angles that saved my life.
Small Wins
There was a diet, personal training schedule and of course the monitoring of my weight that was available to me, so I signed up and started following the Body Vision Program. When I first started the program I thought and of course I shared this information to one of my angels, “Have you done this for women over 50?”
So I signed up that night and I looked at the next few months of this unbelievable journey in terms of small wins that I could achieve. There were weeks that I couldn't walk or talk but I could feel something happening to my body, spirit and soul. In fact, for me, the hardest part was looking back at my old self and realizing that I truly was out of shape and very unhealthy. That is hard to acknowledge when you think you are in better shape...REALITY.
Support Group
My family and friends supported this effort and help me out through the hard times which I needed but I have to say it was the Two Guardian Angles that keep me on track and focused. So for the next few months I wanted everyone to know about my ANGLES and what they could do for them but it is like everything else we all need to recognize when our bodies are talking to us.
My honey and kids have embraced this new lifestyle and they all have started some type of fitness program. I constantly try new recipes and they are all willing to eat all of my experiments! We encourage each other to exercise, praise our accomplishments, cushions our falls and bless the two guardian angles that have been on my shoulder throughout this journey.
A Size 2? Me?
I continue to work out every morning, and I've actually started to look forward to weight lifting, spinning, kickboxing and running. I have never been a small size---I have muscle definition where I never knew there were muscles. I'm in better shape at 53 than I was at 23 and I owe it to my Two Personal Trainers AKA: Guardian Angels. REALITY.
